Deltagraph scam6/6/2023 ![]() I can say for sure that back in 1985 none of us were even aware that people studied the process of developing software. ![]() Trapeze was built by me and 2 friends, we had a team of 4 assist the primary author of Persuasion, and then continued as a team of 4 for Deltagraph until the final version where the publisher added a couple more, ending in 1993. With my startup in 1985 which I founded to develop and market the Trapeze spreadsheet program, and the subsequent startup that worked on Persuasion 1.0 and then spent 5 years on Deltagraph, we had to figure out how to build all these Mac applications. Most of the work I did at General Dynamics was in one person projects and rarely had any kind of development process. That was pretty much the last time I ever did anything like that. My first job in 1981 started with a project that operated basically what you might consider waterfall, though of course that word didn't exist until later (as a poor description of an article written back in the 70's). In reality the process of developing software was never just one thing. Summary - good concept, good potential, but in practice frustrating and disappointing.Sometimes when I talk with younger developers they think that all anyone did before Agile was Waterfall. I have had support tickets going for weeks before I get any answer, and one that has been put in 3 times more than a month old (world record).Īt about 200-300$, not cheap certainly, You expect some basic tech support, a stable program and the advertised features for which you bought the program to work - and things to get better over time, not to decline, which is a bad sign. At one time it was possible (albeit unlikely) to get phone support. Perhaps worst of all, tech support has been declining. However, delta graph is buggy, crashes often for no apparent reason (I have been using it for years, so this is not a single version issue) - the legends sometimes appear miles away from your graph, it can not do really scatterplots, and it can not longer directly export to tiff or jpg - which was one of the best features. There is really not that much other choice (oh, woe the loss of cricket graph) It is really only even rated as high as I rated it, because it is better than most of what else is on offer It also runs on both PC and MC platforms, which is a great idea for large labs or institutions that want some continuity. It also allows the import of other images (like jpgs and tiff) right onto the graph so making a single figure with multiple panels does not require the numerous steps - also great for posters and PPT presentations. Custom chart template libraries, MS Office interoperability, and support for spot color matching make DeltaGraph the number one choice among scientists, researchers and analysts for publication quality charts.Īll DeltaGraph licensees can purchase an upgrade to the latest version of DeltaGraph 7 for $99 download only, or $109 CD.ĭelta graph is a great concept - in theory, you have the flexibility to change colors, symbols, line thicknesses etc that you expect from a scientific graphing program. DeltaGraph makes the process of producing first quality, ready-for-publication charts & graphs as easy as collecting your data, choosing the best chart type, customizing that chart, and exporting your charts in any of a number of image formats.ĭeltaGraph provides researchers, scientists and analysts with unparalleled chart selection, data analysis and graph customization capabilities. With its unrivaled selection of over 80 chart types and easy customization capabilities you will find DeltaGraph the most comprehensive charting application available.
